Hyundai stirred up a lot of interest the moment it announced its compact SUV and not without reason. India loves the SUV's and this multinational car maker is looking to cash in on this craze with its latest utility vehicle, Creta. What they needed is something on the lines of the Ecosport and the Duster with Hyundai's flavor added in the mix and that exactly is what the all-new Hyundai Creta is all about. It is compact but slightly over 4 meters, so its got the presence. It aims to offer a plethora of features, along with the experience of driving a proper SUV. Being sold in Chinese markets as ix25, this vehicle is same on most of the lines except for the added chrome garnishing. There are three engine options available in this series of which, two are diesel based and the other one is a petrol mill. Diesel variants like Base, S and S Plus are powered by a 1.4-litre CRDi engine, while the other trims are equipped with 1.6-litre, CRDi, VGT supported engine. On the other hand, the 1.6-litre dual VTVT petrol engine is available for Base, S and SX Plus. All these engines are mated with a six speed manual gearbox with a front wheel drive mechanism. The company is also offering a 1.6-litre, CRDi based 'SX Plus' variant with a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox. This vehicle has a bold external appearance, owing to its edgy design, all-round black claddings and several other such aspects. Unlike any other vehicle in its segment, its top end version gets a set of 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels that enhances its modern appeal.

The insides look nicely adorned with a dual tone color scheme that has metallic highlights. The seating arrangement is also comfortable with fabric upholstery to cover them. However, the high end SX Option trim gets leather seat covers that adds to the comfort, while rendering a premium appeal to the cabin. The manufacturer has packed it with several standard yet important comfort features, which makes the journey stress free. The list of features include a fully automatic air conditioning system, smart key with push button ignition, safety power windows and a touchscreen navigation system. Unlike other vehicles in Hyundai's fleet, this SUV is built on HIVE body structure using ultra high strength steel that enhances the structural rigidity. The company is offering ABS with EBD as a standard feature for all variants in this series. On the other hand, its top end variant also has an electronic stability control, vehicle stability management and Hill-start assist control, which explains about the safety levels. This newly launched SUV will take on the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Tata Safari Storme and Mahindra Scorpio.
